The Clip Technique
Clip Starter Strip
The 22-gauge galvanized Clip Starter Strip functions as a weep screed flashing at the bottom of the wall, serves as a drip cap above windows and doors, and provides the attachment flange for securing the first row of stone.
Clip & Screw
The 20-gauge galvanized clips securely fit into the back of each stone piece, allowing it to be fastened directly to the wall. This system eliminates the need for heavy and time-consuming mortar and wire lath applications.
Preset Stone Veneer
All Lambris styles are manufactured as distinctive preset stone veneer pieces featuring a recessed groove designed to accommodate the Clip system. The stepped offsets help minimize repetitive patterns during installation, while the varying stone depths and natural shadow lines between pieces enhance authenticity—eliminating the look of a panelized product.
Built-In Drainage
Engineered for effective moisture control, a ¼” breathable cavity allows water to drain freely from behind the stone system and away from the structure. The Clip System’s integrated drainage plane complies with—and exceeds—current national building code requirements for stone veneer drainage systems.
